What educators are saying

I love using station mazes in my classes. Students get up and moving and are naturally more willing to discuss the math.
I laminated the cards. Thank you for creating two sets (one in color and one black and white). I used this to review after the lesson on Standard Deviation and the Empirical rule. Great activity!

Description

In this NO-PREP activity, students will move around the room to practice finding standard deviation. This is READY TO PRINT and will KEEP STUDENTS ENGAGED while working on their math skills!

In this activity, students will find the standard deviation of different datasets. Some of the problems also ask students to find the mean of the dataset as well. The formula used for the activity uses the divisor of "n", not "n - 1" which is common in AP classes.

Make sure these problems are appropriate for your students - download the preview and look at the thumbnails to see all of the problems.

Stations mazes are great because they get students up and moving around the room. They also encourage students to check their work carefully since an incorrect answer will eventually send them back to a problem they have already solved. Successfully completing the maze requires students to slow down and check their work.
