St. Patrick's original song and dance for elementary classroom music! Students will have a blast with this fun, original Irish song and music and movement activity for St. Patrick's Day. Recording Length 1:34

Actions are right in the lyrics of the song:

(1) Form two parallel lines with students facing one another in pairs.

(2) During the introduction of the song, the teacher should perform different actions for students to mimic (clap, pat, etc)

(3) Students should do these actions as indicated in the lyrics:

Phrase One (Left foot forward, right, jump, clap)

Phrase Two (partners step in, touch hands and step back)

Phrase Three (partners hold hands/circle around back to their spaces)

Phrase Four (partners at the head of the line dance/move/shuffle to their other end between the lines of students)

(4) The song continues with everyone doing the moves until the last line when the next pair of students Shamrock Shuffles down the alley.

*Use this song with younger students by inviting them to move freely around the room to the beat of the music!
