Description

In this collection, children will enjoy Reader's Theater adaptations of traditional folktales from Ireland. From stories that feature the tricks of leprechauns and fairies, to a battle of giants and a boy who seeks his fortune, this collection features over 20 speaking parts for plenty of opportunities for children to play a part in these classic Irish tales, perfect for St. Patrick's Day or any time of the year.

This package includes four Reader's Theater scripts:

- The Red Handkerchief

It's Patrick O'Brian's lucky day when he finds a leprechaun in the middle of a cabbage field. Patrick knows that catching a leprechaun means he gets a share of his pot of gold. But will Patrick get his treasure, or does the leprechaun have a trick in store?

- Finn McCool and the Giant

Finn McCool is one of the strongest giants in all of Ireland. But when he's challenged by the giant Benandonner, Finn isn't sure he can beat a giant who can flatten a thunderbolt into a pancake. Armed with a clever plan, Finn and his wife Oonagh seek to outwit the giant in this classic Irish folktale.

- Jack and His Comrades

As Jack sets out to seek his fortune, he is joined by several friends, who he saves along the way. When they come across robbers in the forest, they band together to scare off the thieves and recover the stolen goods. After Jack and his comrades return the bags of gold and silver, they find that their cleverness and goodness may lead them to their fortune after all.

- The Little Good People

The fairies are upset when they learn that the O'Briens and Sullivans are planning to leave their farms and move to America. When they discover that one of their own, the trickster fairy Naggeneen, played a part in pushing the families out of Ireland, they must decide what to do. Will the fairies stay in Ireland without their human friends, or will they move to America, too?
