What educators are saying

This is a great resource for my classroom. I didn't know where to start when I saw my district expected me to teach about Ireland and this was perfect.
One of my favorite units to teach. I always look forward to March to teach about Ireland and St. Pats day. The pictures used are clear and colorful. It was nice having modified story options for different students/levels.

Description

Buy the bundle and SAVE: Nonfiction Resources for the YEAR

Go on an adventure with your class to the land of leprechauns, potatoes, and all things green: Ireland! The magical photographs and fascinating facts will truly make the experience of "visiting" Ireland a memorable one!

In this 102 page packet I've included:

  • The Land of Ireland
  • Life in Ireland
  • Tasty Irish Foods
  • St. Patrick's Day
  • Leprechauns

Part 1: Posters to hang in your classroom and to use while introducing your unit on Ireland (real-life photographs along with important vocabulary).

Part 2: All About Ireland" - These article pages were designed as a way for you to "hook" your students at the beginning of your Ireland unit. You can display the article pages on your document camera as a whole group or print and display during small group instruction.

Part 3: Differentiated All About Ireland Mini-Books - These are differentiated mini-books that can be used during small group instruction. There are three versions. Each version is slightly easier than the last. I wanted to give you options because I know that many of our students come in reading at different ability levels. It is up to you to pick and choose which articles you use with your groups. You can either print in color and laminate or print them in grayscale. Text-Dependent Response sheets follow!

Real-life photographs will enhance your students' understanding of Ireland. I've also provided sheets for students to write a summary.

Part 4: True/False All About Ireland Activity - After learning facts about Ireland, students will sort the sentences according to whether they are true or false. I've also provided a cut/paste sheet too that requires students to read simple sentences and glue them in the correct column.

Part 5: Graphic Organizers Galore - These graphic organizers, vocabulary books, and independent practice sheets can be used however you wish! I tried to offer you many different options to help meet the needs of your diverse group.

In addition, I've also included links to some fabulous All About Ireland web resources and books!

Please download the Preview to see some of what is included!
