Description

Ireland is more than just the land of four leaf clovers! This is the perfect activity for older kids who are ready for something different than the normal St. Patrick's Day activities. This exercise is also a great screen-free way to introduce your students to the world of coding!

Ogham Stones are large stones that people carved a secret language in on the island of Ireland. This lesson will teach your students how to create their own secret codes with the Ogham alphabet. The alphabet is simple in form, using perpendicular, intersecting, and parallel lines. This lesson also includes a math-based activity that will have them practicing these math terms in a new and creative way that they will love! (They might not even realizing they are doing math!)

Also included is everything you need to create Geoexplorer passports for your class, plus the "Ogham Stone" seal to add for this project. Visit my other Geoexplorer projects to continue your trip around the globe.
