Perfect for all drumming including bucket drumming, “We’re St. Patrick’s Drummers” by Lisa Gillam is an easy St. Patrick’s Day poem using simple rhythms. Students will learn the chant by rote and then play either a steady beat, or the rhythm of the chant, as they recite the poem.
The chant repeats four times on the recording. Have them do a different action for each verse repeat (stomp feet, keep feet to the side, etc) as they chant and play for loads of extra fun! The action suggestions video explains how to do this in your own classroom. This chant could even work for any St. Patrick’s Day program.
