St. Patrick's Day Bundle: Informational e-book plus Readers' Theater

This bundled file combines a 31 page informational e-book about St. Patrick's Day and 2 Readers' Theater scripts.

The informational book uses visuals and relatively simple text (geared towards grades 1-3 students) to answer the following questions about St. Patrick's Day:

o Who was St. Patrick?

o What is the history behind St. Patrick's Day?

o What are some of the symbols of St.Patrick's Day and where did they come from?

o How do people celebrate St. Patrick's Day today? Why do so many people around the world celebrate St. Patrick's Day?

It also includes includes:

• Links to you-tube videos showing St. Patrick's Day parades in New York, Montreal and Dublin, the "greening" of the river in Chicago and a short video on the history of St. Patrick's Day
• Links to websites providing further information on St. Patrick's day. Note: the reading level for these websites is much harder that the text from the e-book.
• Links were verified as active March 6, 2016
• Follow-up questions on information found in the e-book.

The 2 Readers' Theater Scripts are written with primary students in mind and contain parts for High Emergent to Fluent readers. A table indicating the reading level of each part is included.

One script tells the story of leprechauns trying to steal gold from a rich man and the other tells the story of 2 bunnies and a chipmunk trying to get to the other side of the rainbow where there are loads of carrots and nuts, but they are being followed by a fox.
