Description
This packet, done on Google Slides, is a total of 13 pages. Included is:
-A readers' theater of the classic story! Your students will enjoy reading / performing the story and identifying the author's message which is to celebrate the differences of pumpkins and people! You'll notice that message is worked into the story. You can adjust the number of cast members to fit your class, but everyone can have a part.
-Author's Purpose Mini-lesson (Your students will practice identifying the author's purpose of four given paragraph and then do the same with Spookley.)
-Students will answer a few questions about the story which will generate a discussion about how we treat other people and how we are treated.
-Students will have the opportunity to write Spookley and letter reminding him that he is perfect the way he is.
-Math is integrated in this packet. Students will create their own Pumpkin Patch featuring pumpkins of different geometric shapes. The shapes are provided for them.
This is an easy PRINT AND GO activity. It involves no planning on your part and is perfect for autumn and Halloween! I hope your students enjoy it as much as mine do!
