Description

These learning targets for speech therapy. Why Learning Targets? When students understand the learning targets and indicators for success, they can measure their progress toward their goals. It focuses their learning and increases student ownership, even in a preschooler. These posters allow you to post the skill targeted, and also encourage student self-assessment using a thumbs up/thumbs down image.

This download includes materials to post speech and language learning targets during speech therapy. The download can be used in different display options based on your needs. The common core standard that applies to each learning target is listed in small front on the bottom of the poster.

Included:

Target posters for six major areas: Behavior, Speech, Language, Social, Fluency, and Grammar

Skill cards with 104 learning targets for speech-language therapy.

Two presentations (half sheet posters or one page poster with attachable mini cards) available.

The behavior learning targets include 6 skills you can use to identify good behaviors in your student. When the group sits down, identify the behaviors you want to see in the group, i.e.: ”I see Jenna is sitting calmly, she’s on target.” While the group is working, you can give nonverbal cues to indicate off target behaviors. If you see a child not watching the speaker, just pull off the target on that space until the student resumes the appropriate behavior.

Option 1: Print each mini poster (pages 7-61) and bind the cards into a flip book. I used book rings to attach my cards together. You could also use a binding machine.

Option 2: For each communication area, there is one poster and several skill cards to add to the poster. Switch out the skill card to indicate which skill you’re targeting that day. I also keep a blank card laminated to write in any more student specific or less-common skills.

I bind my posters with book rings because I travel between classrooms. This way I can make them portable. You could also place them in a 3 ring binder or post as regular posters on the wall. Make it work for you!
