Speech Language BILINGUAL CANTONESE Assessment REPORT TEMPLATE Chinese Dialect
- Word Document File
Description
Hello! You have found your Speech and Language Assessment Report Fairy Godmother! (insert that gif of the guy throwing glitter)
This in Word Doc X (Windows 10) and completely editable.
Here is a new report I wrote (9/2018) for a kiddo who is in 7th grade and speaks ONLY Cantonese at home. I describe in detail this student’s dialect variations and what those characteristics look like. This student did not qualify based on his dialect differences. This is a good guide to use for Asian or Chinese dialects, how to correctly score language assessments, and identify and describe language differences.
Assessment tools used and described:
Background; Speech & RSP placement, (DNQ for speech)
CELDT scores/EL-PAC scores (CA English language development)
Previous assessment scores: PPVT, EVT-2, CASL, Listening Comprehension Test
(***Side Note: please don’t EVER use the LCT on bilingual kids!!!! It is explicitly stated in the instructions)
Review of IEP goals & S/L progress
CASL-2 assessment results- detailed discussion with samples
Discussion of 50 utterance Language Sample in detail
Discussion of test score and dialect examples across performance- including explanation of CASL-2 Sentence Expression differences, and explanation of LOW subtest score (.5% ile Non-Literal Language)
Legally defensible summary and conclusion of DNQ factors
Appendix of all scores, language sample, and descriptions of all tests (INCLUDING CASL-2) PLUS statement about interpreting CASL-2 test scores for bilingual students
I hope you find this useful and helpful :)
