Description

I created this unit to let my students reflect on their surroundings each morning. My students really like knowing the routine of these warm-ups every day! Use these warm-ups to start your day out with basic and functional information. This unit comes with two sections you can use each day.

Warm-Ups:

Included are 3 different types of warm-up to use with different levels so that each student can be challenged appropriately. The warm ups start off with levels for writing their names, so that you can challenge each student appropriately. Just choose which level they are at, delete the names I’ve included, and add your own name choices in their place.

Next the students practice writing the current date in numerals and in written form, then move on to finding the day of the week and writing it. Finally they will look at the current time, and write it in digital form.

These various tasks let you assess multiple students with different IEP goals in one classroom.

Daily Weather:

The next part of this lesson focuses on the daily weather, and what clothes would be appropriate to wear. The student identifies what the current weather is, writes it out, then circles what type of clothing would be appropriate to wear. A graph is included so that your students can graph the weather each day, teaching them basic graphing skills, and also allowing them to watch the change in weather over time.

This unit also comes with the template to create their own “Weather Wheel”, which makes the weather more interactive, matching weather cards, a cross-word, and two pages of writing work for the words used in the weather section.

Here are the IEP goals assessed by this unit:
