What educators are saying
Description
This is a silly TPRS story, written entirely in the Spanish present tense, about a family who goes hiking and complains about everything - being cold, hot, tired, hungry and scared. Students will receive repetition and high quality input of the tener expressions in Spanish.
This story is action packed and most fun when acted out, but the new interactive, choose-your-own-ending picture book also makes it comprehensible for independent reading as well. I use it after I have pre-taught the "tener" expressions to provide more comprehensible input in Spanish..
The in-person lesson also includes:
- A vocabulary page to teach supplemental words that appear in the story
- 2 versions of the story with alternate endings
- Reading comprehension questions for both versions
- An interactive picture book where students can click to choose their ending
- Comics of the two versions to be used as assessments or retell activities
The e-learning lesson plans include:
Day 1: Vocabulary introduction with Quizlet
Day 2: Vocabulary practice and pre-reading activity
Day 3: Narrated picture book videos and text readings for both endings
Day 4: Reading comprehension questions (with the ability to complete digitally)
Day 5: Comic strip and speaking prompt with editable directions to fit your school's platform
Day 6: Student choice for 3 leveled writing activities
The entire product is editable and easily shared with students through Google Classroom or a similar platform.
