Description
This is my all time favorite project that will have your Spanish class make your classroom into an open-air market and have fun bargaining with each other! This project really gets your class speaking Spanish and practicing real-life skills.
2 versions of the project are included, each with a separate student information sheet and corresponding rubric. All project description sheets and rubrics are editable and easily adaptable for multiple levels.
In both versions, students work together in groups to make a store for your class market day complete with a poster that includes descriptive sentences describing their products. Also in both versions, students are required to use their oral Spanish skills to both buy and sell items and bargain with each other.
In the second version of this project, students are also required to write a paragraph using the preterit detailing what they bought and sold on your class market day. My students always have a blast with this activity!
The items in the stores are not actually being sold, and all students will have their items returned to them at the end of the class period. Students are encouraged to be creative and come up with a clear strategy or theme for their store. Extra credit can be given to the groups that make the most "money!"
