Spanish House and Chores Speaking Assessment

This speaking test assesses students' knowledge of chores/house vocabulary, as well as the present and present progressive tense. Students look at a picture of a house, and tell what furniture is present in certain rooms, what chores people are doing, and correct false statements.

The following items are included in the download:

• The transcript
• The picture for students to use as a reference during the test (available in color and b&w)
• A grading rubric
• The audio file (recorded by a native Spanish speaker) in four different formats:
  • Audio with brief pauses between each line
  • Audio with 30-second pauses between each line
  • Files compatible with Sony Soloist/Virtuoso
  • A video file compatible with the free site, Charlala

This speaking test can be administered in a variety of ways, but students could easily respond using their iPhones/iPads (via Voice Memos) or Chromebooks (using the Camera app) while you read the transcript or play the pre-recorded audio included in your download.
