What educators are saying

Thank you for creating this resource. I spent so much time this year trying to invent new resources, purchasing yours made one part of the year much easier. Thank you.
I LOVE these! We haven't watched many movies in AP this year, but we used it for the short films we watched and "Landfill Harmonic." They really help the students think critically about what they are watching and how they relate to the AP themes. They make a solid purchase for your class.

Description

This AP Movie Guide will help your students reflect on the interconnectedness of the AP themes and subthemes while they watch any movie or documentary, or even listen to a podcast.  Just choose a video or podcast, make copies of this Movie Guide for your students and you’re ready to go! You will get a lot of mileage out of this resource, as it can be used over and over, with any movie appropriate for AP Spanish! The AP Themes and Subthemes and all supporting materials are written in Spanish, specifically designed to prepare students for the AP Spanish Language and Culture Exam.

This is perfect for a NO PREP Sub Plan (Have students watch a movie, then reflect on 5 different Subthemes as they watch or afterwards) OR show 20-30 minutes of a film over several class periods, asking students to reflect on a different sub theme each class.

Included in this resource you will find detailed instructions, a PDF and an editable version of the AP Movie Guide and a PDF and an editable chart of AP Themes and Subthemes written in Spanish (to create a classroom poster or copies for students to keep in their binders).

As a BONUS, online manipulatives of each AP Theme and Subtheme are included so students can manipulate, classify and justify their understanding of the themes and corresponding subthemes. This is a great way to introduce students to the AP Themes and Subthemes at the beginning of the year!
