    Google and Office Versions:

    • This unit includes both Office and Google formats for ALL lessons. The presentations are in PowerPoint and Google Slides while all documents contain Word and Google Doc versions.
    • Your resource is perfect for distance learning and integrates seamlessly with Google Classroom as I've included a link that will automatically create a copy of the resources and put them directly into your Google Drive with one click.
    • Purchase --> Open --> Click --> Assign to your students

Having both options allows you to use either without worrying about formatting issues as all the work has already been done for you. It safeguards you in case your department or school decides to go Google 100% and allows you as well as your students to access everything no matter where you are or what kind of equipment is being used.

    Included in the package:

**IN ADDITION. When you purchase this resource, you will get 1-Week of free, unlimited access to my membership program which gives you access to all my resources**

    Buyer Comments:

    - "You saved me!! Thanks for such a thorough and creative package"

    - "Absolutely amazing!"

    - "Helpful resource that saved me prep time. Thanks!"

    - "I am SO impressed with the quality of this unit!"

    - "This is a great resource, there are video clips throughout which break up the lecture and PowerPoint. The assignments are great and aren't the typical worksheets. This is great for a quick ready to go resource."

    Lessons Include:

    Lesson 1 - Space - An Introduction

Lesson 2 - Our Solar System

Lesson 3 - Life in Outer Space

Lesson 4 - The Life and Death of Stars

Lesson 5 - The Seasons and Earth's Tilt

    Lesson 6 - The Moon

Lesson 7 - Eclipse - Solar and Lunar

Lesson 8 - Galaxies, Other Objects, and the Universe

Lesson 9 - The Immensity of the Universe

    NGSS:

MS-ESS1-1 - Develop and use a model of the Earth-sun-moon system to describe the cyclic patterns of lunar phases, eclipses of the sun and moon, and seasons.

MS-ESS1-2 - Develop and use a model to describe the role of gravity in the motions within galaxies and the solar system. Emphasis is on gravity as the force that holds together the solar system and Milky Way galaxy and controls orbital motions within them.

MS-ESS1-3 - Analyze and interpret data to determine scale properties of objects in the solar system.

Specifically, the lessons cover topics like the solar system, seasons, moon phases, eclipses, galaxies, and scale of astronomical objects. Developing models to explain these celestial phenomena aligns with performance expectations MS-ESS1-1 and MS-ESS1-2.

The inclusion of activities analyzing data to determine scale properties of objects in our solar system addresses MS-ESS1-3.

Overall, this space unit bundle effectively guides students in developing conceptual understandings and scientific explanations for astronomical events and properties, as outlined in the middle school Earth and space science standards. The wide variety of lessons and activities provide multiple opportunities for students to demonstrate proficiency in these NGSS expectations.

Buyer Comments: "THANK YOU!! THANK YOU!! THANK YOU!!! Saved me so much time...love the worksheets that go along with the powerpoints!!!"

"I needed something quick and ready-made and this package was well worth the price. I would have actually paid more for everything that I got! Very good!"

"I just bought this unit and had a quick peek through all of it…. AMAZING! You spent an incredible amount of time creating this unit! I love it and can’t wait to use it. I enjoy using resources like this so much and my students do, too. The video in each lesson is fantastic… breathtaking…. gives me chills! Thank you so much! You could easily charge more."

"This is the second unit I have used from this seller; if anything, it is better than the first. The students are so engaged and have so many questions (that are usually answered in the next slide or video) that I know that they are learning a great deal. Thank you for sharing this resource."

"My students are really enjoying this unit on Space! The power point is easy to use and the pictures and videos are awesome. I really like the website used for the space newsletter too."

"Fantastic! So much time went into preparing this. I love the embedded videos. Thank you!"

Each lesson includes a student and teacher version. The student version contains multiple blanks that need to be filled in throughout the lesson. I have found this to be the most effective means of keeping my students engaged and active without having them write everything out. This also leaves more time for discussion and activities.

    NGSSMS-ESS1-2
Develop and use a model to describe the role of gravity in the motions within galaxies and the solar system. Emphasis for the model is on gravity as the force that holds together the solar system and Milky Way galaxy and controls orbital motions within them. Examples of models can be physical (such as the analogy of distance along a football field or computer visualizations of elliptical orbits) or conceptual (such as mathematical proportions relative to the size of familiar objects such as students’ school or state). Assessment does not include Kepler’s Laws of orbital motion or the apparent retrograde motion of the planets as viewed from Earth.
    NGSSMS-ESS1-3
Analyze and interpret data to determine scale properties of objects in the solar system. Emphasis is on the analysis of data from Earth-based instruments, space-based telescopes, and spacecraft to determine similarities and differences among solar system objects. Examples of scale properties include the sizes of an object’s layers (such as crust and atmosphere), surface features (such as volcanoes), and orbital radius. Examples of data include statistical information, drawings and photographs, and models. Assessment does not include recalling facts about properties of the planets and other solar system bodies.
    NGSSMS-ESS1-1
Develop and use a model of the Earth-sun-moon system to describe the cyclic patterns of lunar phases, eclipses of the sun and moon, and seasons. Examples of models can be physical, graphical, or conceptual.
