    Description

Get this awesome Sound Box (Elkonin Box) bundle of printables designed to help make orthographic mapping fun and multi-sensory!

    >> This is a GROWING bundle! Once you buy, you're locked in at the current price, and you'll get any future sound box resources that we add to this bundle FOR FREE.

    WHAT'S INCLUDED:

    • 4 printable sound box pages with writing lines plus colorful tapping cues and an arrow to help them map and read words:
      - CVC words (3 phonemes): Three sound boxes to map CVC words. We love to use this when working on mapping words with digraphs (chat, shed, chin).
      - Magic e words: Since words following the VCE pattern include the silent e (no sound), there's a line instead of a sound box for the special letter e, which helps remind students that the magic e is silent! This is a great resource when introducing the magic e, but after a bit you will want to scaffold up and give them the 3 phoneme box and see if they remember to include the magic e when they hear the long vowel sound.
      - 4 phoneme words: Use 4 sound boxes for CVCC or CCVC words.
      - 5 phoneme words: Use this sheet for all sorts of words! This is great for advanced practice once things like digraphs, blends, vowel teams, and diphthongs have been taught.
    • 3 printable pages of cut-out letters: Capital and lowercase letters (full alphabet), Red vowels, Digraphs ch, sh, th, R-controlled vowels, Vowel teams, Diphthongs, Magic E (letter e with a top hat & a magic wand), and blank squares.
    • 5 Short Vowel CVC Word Mat Worksheets: Get one worksheet for each middle vowel, 5 in total. Since we introduce one middle vowel sound at a time, this is helpful for students as they learn each one. Or when your student have learned all 5 short vowel sounds, they can work through all 5 mats at once.
    • 2 Mixed Vowel CVC Word Mat Worksheets. Each worksheet contains one work for each vowel. Students will have to decide which vowel sound they hear in each word. This is great practice for students once they've become comfortable with all 5 short vowel sounds.
    • 4 Car-themed Elkonin Box Mats (2, 3, 4, and 5 phonemes) with printable tire markers and cars to "drive" on the road.
    • Roll & Read Game Boards for CVC and CVCe Words(2): One for CVC words, and one for Silent E Words. Each board includes sound boxes, visual reminders for tapping words, and space to write the real and nonsense words they've rolled. This provides accountability and ensures students are completing the activity.
    • Dice templates (5): Included are dice for 1. Beginning consonants, 2. Vowels, 3. Ending consonants, 4. Beginning or ending consonants, 5. Digraphs
    • 17 Cut & Paste word mapping worksheets! This cut-and-paste resource allows students to practice orthographic mapping words with specific phonics skills: Short Vowels/CVC words, Digraphs, Blends, Silent e, and R-controlled vowels.
    • *NEW* 40 CVC Word Building Task Cards. Kids follow a speech-to-print format, mapping and writing words on each card.

ADDED BONUS: Get 6 free printable spelling practice worksheets. Use these worksheets to practice CVC words, VCe words, and words with blends! Print in color or use the black and white options.
