Description

This is a game played where students place the correct words on the proper mat. They are to read the word and then decide which word family it belongs to. This is terrific item for partners as part of a whole group learning activiy about word families or as a teacher led activity.

It is also a great game for review or early intervention. I use this one-on-one with elementary students who need extra time on this phonics strategy.

The words vary in difficulty from single syllabe words to three syllable words. I believe half would be easily read for an average first grader while the remaining half wold be more suited to second grade and above. (These words would great words to challenge your more experienced first grade readers.)
