This Songs of the Vietnam War Protest Music Mini Project has students learn more about the Anti-War Movement by analyzing specific songs from the time. This 2-3 day mini project requires students to analyze a specific song from the Anti-War Movement. During their analysis they will need to answer these questions:
- How does this protest song connect to the Vietnam War? Does this artist support or oppose the war? How do you know? (Make a direct connection between the lyrics and the event by quoting the lyrics and explaining)
- What is the message of the song? (Cite lyrical evidence and explain)
- What feelings does the song evoke in its listeners? (Cite lyrical evidence)
