Description
This product includes in class notes and a corresponding homework assignment to teach students how to set up and solve systems of linear equations word problems.
The homework consists of 12 problems similar to the examples in the in class notes. Each problem has a place for the students to write the system, show their work, and give the answer. This is 4 pages worth of homework. You may choose to divide this up into multiple days or just use a few of the pages as homework and the rest as warm ups. For this reason I have not numbered the problems.
Answer key included.
Please view the preview to view the notes and a page of the homework.
Types of Problems Included
The in class notes includes 15 system word problems over the following categories:
• Mystery Numbers - “The difference of two numbers is 34 and their sum is 338. Find the numbers.”
• People Have Money - “Alyssa has $75 less than three times Eric. Together they have $900.”
• Coins - “Isaiah has $7.15 in Dimes and Nickels. He has a total of 91 coins.”
