Description
Printable PDF & Digital Versions are included in this distance learning ready zombie themed graphing activity will strengthen your students’ skills in solving systems of linear equations by substitution or elimination.
All 9 systems are designed to be solved by elimination or substitution.
This activity could be completed by graphing if the students rearranged the equations (though it is not designed to be solved by graphing). Many of the systems must be rearranged or multiplied before they can be solved by substitution or elimination.
Distance learning?
- No problem! This activity now includes a Google Slides digital option!

This makes a great end of unit activity once students have learned all the methods of solving systems.
After many requests a "Catching Zombies" version has been added. It's the exact same activity and problems but replaces the word "Killing" for "Catching". It's included in the resource download after purchase.

How It Works
Students are given a graph with 9 zombies on it and 9 systems. Students will cut out each system, solve the system, plot the solution on the zombie graph, and glue the system next to the zombie it “killed”. Zombies are “killed” when a solution lands on any part of their body. This is a great self-checking activity. If students have made an error their solution won’t “kill” a zombie so they know to go back and try again.
