Description

Get students out of their seats and solving literal equations with this interactive scavenger hunt. Students will practice solving for the indicated variable. Half of the expressions involve a, b, c, d and the other half involve w, x, y, z. The equations are close enough that students need to carefully solve for the indicated variable because others may look correct at first glance. Students do need to know how to factor a GCF in order to complete some of the problems. There are 12 practice problems included in the activity. Students begin in different locations around the room and use their answers to find the next problem they must complete. The scavenger hunt is over when students complete all 12 problems and end where they began.
