Description

Are you looking for a solving equations with distributive property digital activity?

Miss Kuiper's Classroom has you covered with this self-checking digital activity! In this activity, students will work with solving multi step equations with variables on both sides that deal with integer numbers.

This Bundle Includes

  • Aligning Common Core Standards
  • Digital Mystery Activity (10 equations)
  • Answer Key

What makes it self-grading?

This mystery puzzle shows students immediately if they got the answer correct or not. If a student types in the correct answer, the cell in Google Sheets will turn green as well as pop up a piece of the picture. If student input the incorrect answer, the cell turns red.

✨How This Activity Works✨

  1. Students solve 10 equations with variables on both sides. For each correct answer, students will “collect” an image to find.
  2. Once all 10 are answered correctly, a picture search will appear!
  3. Students can then click and drag the magnifying glasses to the collected images!

What makes this scaffolded?

This activity is scaffolded to help students truly understand solving equations. You can read here how I structure my entire solving equations unit for student success. For students below grade-level, each piece can feel like a giant leap. So the goal is to get students comfortable with solving for the value of x in small increments. So this activity deals with solving equations with distributive property using integer numbers.
