What educators are saying

These are the best things I have ever purchased. The students were so engaged with the video, the use of their whiteboards, and the sharing just everything!
I used this to review with my students about flat and solid shapes. Those who didn’t know it well, do now.

Description

Have you ever felt overwhelmed and just needed a minute to catch your breath? Have you ever wondered how you could keep your class busy while you worked one-on-one with a student or small group? I know I have and that's why I created 7 Minute Whiteboard Videos. They are ZERO prep! No copies! No early finishers! No grading! The best part is, kids LOVE them!

These videos offer a quick, no-prep review that your students are going to love! Each student needs a whiteboard, marker, and eraser.

This set focuses on 3D shapes and includes cones, pyramids, cubes, spheres, rectangular prisms, cylinders, and triangular prisms. Videos in this set are:

  • What's that Figure? - In these videos, students see a real world object and write the name of its figure. There is a word bank for spelling assistance. When it is time to check answers, the real world object fades away, revealing the solid figure that matches and the name of the shape is both heard aloud and shown on the board. Students erase their boards and repeat with another shape. There are five videos like this. Click here to see an example!
  • Draw and Guess the 3D Shape - This video can be used over and over! Students draw a solid figure, trade boards with a classmate, the classmate guesses the figure, writes the name of the figure they think their friend drew, they switch boards back and see if they guessed correctly. Click here to see it!
  • Roll, Stack, and Slide Review - Due to length of the videos, this has been broken into two videos. One includes cubes, cylinders, and cones and the other has pyramids, spheres, rectangular prisms and triangular prisms. Your students will see each shape and answer the question "can it stack, roll, or slide" before watching an animation and seeing the correct answer. They erase their boards and repeat with another figure. To see a preview of this video, click here!
  • 3D Shapes in the Classroom - Can your students find real world examples of solid figures in your classroom? They will have one minute to find something and draw it on their board before showing a friend what they found. Click here to see an example of this video!
  • 3D Shapes and Positions - Your students will see a shelf full of real world objects that are 3D shapes. They hear directions like "Find the cereal box. What shape is the object below it?" This is a great review of both positional words, following directions, and reviewing shapes. Click here to see it!
  • All About 3D Shapes - Everything you would want to cover for each individual shape is included in these videos! Students will decide if it can roll, slide, or stack, tell how many sides, vertices, and faces it has, draw it (directed drawing), look for it in the classroom, and count and tally real world examples.

These are terrific for transitions or as a warm-up for your math lesson. Each video is approximately 7 minutes long.

Describe objects in the environment using names of shapes, and describe the relative positions of these objects using terms such as above, below, beside, in front of, behind, and next to.
Correctly name shapes regardless of their orientations or overall size.
Identify shapes as two-dimensional (lying in a plane, “flat”) or three-dimensional (“solid”).
Analyze and compare two- and three-dimensional shapes, in different sizes and orientations, using informal language to describe their similarities, differences, parts (e.g., number of sides and vertices/“corners”) and other attributes (e.g., having sides of equal length).
Model shapes in the world by building shapes from components (e.g., sticks and clay balls) and drawing shapes.
