Description

A bundle of resources to study solar and lunar eclipses. This go-to packet contains all of the following for an exciting eclipse unit!

  • Solar and Lunar eclipse diagrams a drawing activity for solar and lunar eclipses that uses a ruler to find the intersecting lines of shadow that form during the eclipse.
  • Reading Comprehension articles three reading passages on eclipses. The first discusses the difference between lunar and solar eclipses, the second describes an annular eclipse, and the third discusses how solar eclipses are used to make discoveries about the Sun’s corona. Follow-up question worksheet for all three.
  • 16 Eclipse task cards a set of task cards covering lunar and solar eclipses. Student recording sheet and answer key provided.
  • 13 Eclipse posters and word wall beautiful images of eclipses. Includes total solar eclipse, annular eclipse, a total lunar eclipse as well as the diamond ring effect.
  • Eclipse worksheets includes matching, crossword puzzle, Venn diagram, writing in complete sentences, letter home, word search, eclipse graphic organizer, and a true or false worksheet. Answer keys for all.
  • Pinhole Camera directions to make a simple pinhole camera
  • Coordinate graphing students plot the path of the last two eclipses in the US. Two different versions are provided that differ in the size of the grid boxes.
  • 40-slide PowerPoint Covers both lunar and solar eclipses, partial eclipses, umbra, penumbra, annular eclipse, and the diamond ring effect. Beautiful images.
