SohCahToa Code Breaker
- Word Document File
Description
This is an activity I created to help the students practice how to identify the opposite vs adjacent side based on what angle is being used.
Students will also need to know what a numerator and denominator are as the sin, cos, and tan are being written as fractions.
As for the codebreaker portion the students will simply need to know what letter corresponds with each number. This part gets them thinking a little more critically and goes outside of mathematics to find the answer. A is 1, B is 2 and so forth. I would encourage you to do your best to let them think on their own before telling them that though, as the struggle helps build their brains and create stronger thinkers.
I did this activity in groups of three so that they could work together and help each other, but of course how you split that up will be your decision to make. I have three different versions to prevent copying as well as the answer keys for your convenience.
