    Toy denial- 

    This social story demonstrates when a child is being denied preferred items at the store and how he uses coping skills when he gets upset. His mom is proud of him for listening and reinforces his positive behavior at the end. This social story also comes with discussion questions.

    Winning and Losing-

    This social story demonstrates teaching a child how to play games fairly. Knowing how to win and lose fairly is a skill every child should learn. In this story, the child’s parents teach them what to say when they win and lose and the value of just having fun. This social story also comes with discussion questions.

    Transitions-

    This social story demonstrates a child having a hard time transitioning from a high preferred location to a low preferred location. The child doesn’t want to go to a class. (The class in the story is not specific but can be modified when read to say “speech class” or “tutoring” etc..) This social story also comes with discussion questions.

    This social story demonstrates when a child is being denied preferred items like a sugary snack, but instead is offered two choices of a healthy snack. The child uses coping skills to decide which healthy choice to eat. This social story also comes with discussion questions.

    Waiting / delay-

    This social story demonstrates when a child has to wait and a preferred activity is being delayed. The child uses coping skills to decide if they want to wait for family to play with them or to play by herself. This social story also comes with discussion questions.
