Description
In this era, social media and phone use are driving socialization and identity formation more than nearly anything. This product introduces the issue, provides a fascinating TED talk with reflection questions, explains some major concerns, and then pushes students into some self-exploration. After the 50 content slides, a project is introduced to students to track their own screen time, and then to try to introduce an intervention to lower their screen time, followed by some reflection. This product includes the slides, embedded videos, embedded class discussion questions, and student experiment packet all in a google folder.
The slides themselves cover:
- Social Media Takeover
- Social Media Statistics
- TED Talk
- TED Talk Reflection Qs
- The Effects of Social Media, Explained
- Some Interventions-- How we might change our virtual habits
- Introducing The Project
