What educators are saying

I used this resource to create an assignment. The students seemed to enjoy researching and reporting on various social media sources.
My students enjoyed researching about various apps they use regularly. It was a good way for them to think about their technology use.

Empower your students to analyze the impact of social media in today's society.

In 2017, there were about 2.5 billion people using social media worldwide with this amount only expected to increase in the future. People use social media to quickly and easily talk to, connect with, and share things with others. For this assignment, students choose and research a social network to determine how it works. After analyzing their research, they then evaluate whether the social network is helpful or harmful to themselves and society.

This resource guides students through conducting their own research report on a social network (55+ topics are listed). After choosing a topic to focus on, students are asked to conduct research using the Internet and books while following criteria. Next, students are asked to share their learning by creating a poster board, presentation board, power point presentation, or dodecahedron (Instructions & Pentagon Template included). Artwork may also be created to further display learning. Finally, students present their work to the class.

Project-Based Learning (PBL) is a student-centered pedagogy in which students are challenged to actively learn about a subject for an extended period of time. It is a form of active learning or inquiry-based learning. Project-Based Learning is in contrast to paper-based, rote memorization, or teacher-led instruction that presents established facts. Please be aware of what you are purchasing.
