This activity is a great way to introduce a media awareness unit and generate discussion in the classroom about social media and its influence on today's teens. Includes activities related to teens' social media use, how they spend their time online, and the role of marketing concerning social media.

The download includes lesson ideas, asocial media use survey / graphic organizer, an introduction to social media, three short surveys and discussion question worksheets, a survey analysis worksheet, and a blank survey for students to create their own.
This activity covers topics related to social media use in students' free time, how students connect to the marketing and influencers they see online, and how much their behavior is influenced by what they see online.
I also include pages so that students can survey their peers at school.
Students have always enjoyed this activity in my classroom and especially love to survey their friends and other students. There are some great data analysis opportunities in a media literacy unit!
