Description

Many times children get upset when they can’t have what they want. This can happen at school and at home. It is difficult for some children to understand that it is okay if they don’t get exactly what they want. They can’t think beyond that moment when they aren’t getting whatever it is that they want so much.

Sometimes I Don’t Get What I want, But That’s Okay!” is an 11-page Social Story Power Point presentation to support individual or classroom behaviors and give strategies to see beyond the Moment!

It includes various examples of how we might not always get what we want and how we can handle it. There is an also original poem at the end of the story as a reminder of what they can say or think in that moment when it is tough to accept that they are not getting what they want!

Good Helper Awards are included in PDF format for your convenience.

These stories can be read on your Smart Board to the entire class, on a computer or I-pad for individual students and used as needed over and over again.
