Description
I struggled my first year teaching with writing IEP's. I had only 1 class in school. that taught me how to write them. When you are in a large group working on an IEP together, it's easy, right?! Working on one alone, with no one to bounce off ideas, or tell you if you are on the right track is a whole other thing!
Since then, I've learned how to perfect the IEP's that I write. I went from my first taking 5 hours, to be able to sit down and write one in 1 hour.
Last year I started as a Special Education Administrator, and realized, that I wasn't the only one who struggled with this. Many first-year teachers struggle with the same thing. I had hired 2 new teachers last year and they both struggled with writing IEP's. Their struggle, as well as my own, showed me that there was a big need for this kind of resource. I've taken on and off for the last year to write this resource. I've taken great care in trying to make sure that I have included everything that you will need to write your first, second, or even 6th IEP.
