Looking for an engaging, no-prep New Years activity for your students? Look no further! This resource is perfect for your first day back from Winter Break so all you have to do is print or assign the digital version on your Google Classroom/LMS system.
In this activity, students will reflect on their past year using different literary elements such as symbolism, internal conflict, external conflict, and more. They will also identify a song that represents their past year, something they are proud of accomplishing, want to improve on, and more.
In the snapshot of the new year, students will set an academic goal and personal goal (with SMART kept in mind), identify a topic they plan to research and explore, design a wallpaper based on the person they want to become this year, determine healthy habits to adopt, and more.
Finally, students will choose one of many prompts that are self-reflective and engaging to respond in one page to.
This activity is the perfect way to ease back into the rest of the school year while helping you avoid those Sunday Scaries!
