Description

My Special Education students love Smartboard lessons and they love music too! Why not pair the two for a perfect money lesson! Start the lesson off with a link to YouTube so students can listen to this fun money song. Then, continue on with having students identify coins by sorting into a piggy bank and then by sorting values. Here is what is included in the lesson:

Identify coins:
penny (ID penny in isolation)
penny (ID penny vs.nickel)
nickel (ID nickel in isolation)
nickel (ID nickel vs. penny)
dime (ID dime in isolation)
dime (dime vs. penny)
quarter (ID quarter in isolation)
quarter (quarter vs. nickel)
All coins (pull name of coin you want into the piggy bank)

Identify coin values:
Find the coins worth 5¢
Find the coins worth 1¢
Find the coins worth 10¢
Find the coins worth 25¢

Final two slides can be used as an assessment:
Sort coins by names
Sort coins by values

15 slides in total.
