Description

This group of scripts was written to support social studies standards and learning. I use them for teaching US history as well as for holidays like: July 4th, Memorial Day, Voting, Veteran's Day, President's Day etc. They are for groups of 3 to 5 students. Scripts included are: The Flag Code, George Washington and the Cherry Tree, George Washington the President who Loved Dogs, The REAL Story of Uncle Sam, The Star Spangled Banner, and The Right to Vote. There are 6 scripts. They usually sell for $2 to $3 but, in this packet, I am charging $9 instead of $12. Each reader's theater is sold singly but you can get all six in this packet. This means you get two free when you buy them here.

Each of the reader's theaters was designed as a small group reader's theater because I use them in class to practice fluency. I use reader's theaters to encourage my students to practice fluency. It is a fun way to do something that they need. Most of my scripts are in black and white so they photo copy easily and take less ink. This one does have a colored picture on some of the first pages but the rest are black and white. The problem with many other reader's theaters is that students spend a lot of time waiting for their part. When you have a small group they get more practice in and less off task behaviors take place.

My name is Melanie Whitesides but my store name is Wonbyone and I hope that your students enjoy this script as much as mine did. Let me know how things go! If your students' reading levels are less than 4th grade there will be some scripts that are too difficult.
