Slavery in Roman Times

Description
'Slavery in Roman Times' is a 30-slide PowerPoint presentation with pictures and text that covers topics including: the source of slaves, slave auctions, slave dealers, prices, rights, names, food and clothing, treatment, occupations, runaways, punishment, freedom, slaves in Roman comedy, insurrection, Spartacus, famous slaves, and decline of slavery. The presentation concludes with a carefully worded 4-slide comparison-contrast discussion of Roman and American slavery. This slideshow covers a sensitive issue, and I have tried to cover it as objectively as possible and from an historical point of view. My goal was to present the topic of slavery in ancient Roman society with a couple of modern twists, i.e. the slides on the depiction of slaves in Roman comedy and famous Roman slaves, and the comparison of the institution of slavery in ancient Rome and early America.
