Slavery Overview - 7 STATIONS with videos, song, poem, law, pictures, and texts

These stations are perfect for pre-reading for a text like Frederick Douglass or Harriet Jacobs. They could also be used as an activity to go in a unit on slavery.

There is a 3-page worksheet that students record their answers for the stations on. It's a Word document, so if you need to change anything to meet your goals, you can. All you need to do for this is print or post online!

There is a 1 page direction sheet for each station. You could pass folders around or post them around the room. Three of the stations are media like videos or a song, so you can set-up laptops and headphones with these. I have a shortened bitly link and a QR code on each of these, so students could also scan and watch with their own devices and headphones. For the texts, you could similarly have students pull them up on their devices with links provided. I personally copied and pasted them as shown below (copyright).

This could also work as a Web Quest if you just post the 7 links and provide the handout!

An answer key is not included as most of the answers could be subjective.
