Description
Cadettes practice the art of detection by acting as forensic sketch artists and eyewitnesses. Girls work in pairs to complete two composite drawings using a set of suspect picture cards and printable sketch paper. The eyewitnesses describe the suspects on the cards feature by feature while the sketch artists listen and draw. After a set amount of time, the paired girls compare their drawings with the suspect cards and then switch roles. Afterward, all girls share their drawings and discuss the challenges they encountered while acting as sketch artists and eyewitnesses during the activity.
Sketch a Suspect fulfills Cadette Special Agent Badge (Step 5). It may be worked within the troop setting or at home by a single girl with the help of family and/or friends. This printable activity pack includes twenty suspect cards in three design options: color photographs, color graphics, and black-and-white graphics; printable sketch paper in full and half sheets; and activity leader directions, which may be used by an adult or older girl.
