Description
Many younger students need support to learn how to sit and listen. I use simple charts like this one to help support them with visual cues. This chart helps them to learn to sit, look, listen, and raise their hand.
Depending on the ability of the student, decide how many boxes they need to check of to receive their reward. A reward could be 5 minute walk, 5 minutes of time on the tablet, 5 minutes extra playtime, etc.
When using behavior charts, make sure to front load the rewards. They should receive their reward 1-3 times the first day, so they understand the goal. As they learn the procedure, space out the rewards to scaffold.
