Description
Students enjoy this "real simulation" of the steps of human digestion using basic lab equipment and common materials. The data collections using chromatography paper strips ( ... or simply rectangular strips of filter paper!) provide students with evidence of diffusion of materials which can be easily transferred to their understanding of the movement of nutrients in their own small intestine. This safe, effective hands-on lab is easy to manage and always a hit in class!
