Description

A fun activity which allows students to incorporate art and creativity into figurative language skills. Students complete sentences about their facial features, identify if the statement is a simile or metaphor, then draw their portrait in the frame.

Example: "My eyes shine like diamonds" - "S" for Simile on line in front of statement - then picture is drawn to include diamond shaped eyes on face. These portraits or mug shots can be displayed in the classroom for decoration or conversation pieces for visitors and Open House!
