Sight Words

This sight word slideshow makes introducing, reviewing, and instructing sight words a piece of cake! Simply open the PowerPoint file, play the slideshow, and view the slides. The slides have your students read the word, read it in a sentence, and chunk it.

I use this product to introduce new sight words. I read the first slide which has only the new sight word. I then have my students repeat it. I move on to the next slide and point and read the sight word in the sentence provided. My students then read and repeat it. The final slide is the sight word in chunks. I spell the word in the chunk given and have my students repeat me. If you are familiar with arm tapping to spell, this is where I use that technique to spell. I will then have my students record the sight word in their Sight Word Notebook and use it in a sentence of their own.

These sight word slides can be rearranged in an order that works best for you and your sight word sequence.
