What educators are saying

My students loved this activity! It was very engaging and every student seemed to enjoy participating. I will definitely continue to use it in the future.
This was such a great resource to use. The kids found value in structuring their responses and found this to aid in writing a paper. Loved how creatively students could use this.

Description

Short story one-pagers are a great way to get students creatively analyzing and interpreting what they've read. These one-pagers would be a great no-prep final project for any short story unit, or an engaging class activity with any single short story.

One-pagers help unlock student creativity, allowing them to combine their visual and verbal skills to showcase what they discover and make it more memorable. Yet it's easy for students wary of art to turn up their noses at one-pagers.

That's why in this packet you'll find straightforward templates to help guide every student to success. Kids who prefer artistic freedom can simply use the instructions and a blank piece of paper. Everyone else can use the templates to create wonderful one-pagers until they feel ready to face the blank page without fear.

One-pagers have quickly become one of my favorite ways to get kids thinking creatively about novels, podcasts, films, Ted talks, and now, short stories! I think you're going to love seeing what your students create - be sure to save a bulletin board for the final products.

Oh, and don't worry about the grading, I've included a straightforward rubric to make it easy.

This is a new product for me, and I'd love to hear what you think. Drop a review here on TPT to earn credit towards your future purchases, or email me at betsy@nowsparkcreativity.com with any comments or questions. Thank you!
