What educators are saying

Easy to follow resource for the movie. It's easy to adapt to keep students focused or prepare them for discussion during/after the film.
I always love these assignments. I look forward to any new work from Bradley Thompson to see if I can integrate it into my film class.

Description

The following seven-page study guide film packet is used to accompany the Andy Fickman-directed 2006 teen comedy film "She's the Man," which is a loose adaptation of William Shakespeare's play "Twelfth Night." This study guide can be used in an English, film studies, or media studies class. The first page contains a list of cast and crew and a background and introduction on the film. The second page is a page that allows viewers to jot and take down their own notes. Pages three to five contain comprehension questions to guide the viewer on the work's camera movement, characterization, cinematography, (central, external, and internal) conflict, costume design, dialect, diction, editing, inferences, dramatic irony, editing, foreshadowing, plot, setting, situational irony, story, sound, and themes. The sixth and seventh pages contain discussion questions on the adaptation choices the filmmakers made, characterization, setting, and ideologies/themes.

This packet can be used by itself or can be used as a formative assessment to prepare students for the summative assessment of a 20-question multiple choice quiz that is available as a separate purchase.
