Description

This FREE product contains handouts and questions for your class to watch and discuss the 6 minute movie, Shelter. Musical artist Porter Robinson first wrote the song Shelter, and worked with a Japanese Animation Studio to create a movie that told the story of the song lyrics.

Shelter tells the story of Rin, a 17 year-old girl who lives her life inside of a futuristic
simulation completely by herself in infinite, beautiful loneliness. Each day, Rin awakens in virtual reality and uses a tablet which controls the simulation to create a new, different, beautiful world for herself. One day, something she creates triggers childhood memories and she learns the truth about her life.

With this resource, you can facilitate a classroom discussion of the movie and the song, and have your students use the included writing prompts to write about it.
