Description

This lesson has students build a definition of shell shock based on primary source analysis of actual case studies compiled by doctors during WW1. Students investigate the causes and symptoms of shell shock on the soldiers. The lesson also has an optional extension to discuss the British Army's policy of executing deserting soldiers exhibiting symptoms of shell shock for cowardice.
