Shapes - 2D and 3D Flipchart

This flipchart is the perfect addition to your unit on introducing 2D and 3D shapes. It can also be used as a review of the shapes. With this interactive flipchart, your students will explore each shape in various ways. The shapes covered in this flipchart include
2D:
circle, triangle, square, rectangle, oval, hexagon, trapezoid, and rhombus

3D:
cube, cone, cylinder, sphere, pyramid, rectangular prism, and triangular prism

Each 2D shape slide has a link to a fun song to help your students remember the shapes, and each 3D shape slide has a link to a short informational video to teach your students more about those shapes.

With this flipchart your students will be able to practice the following skills:
1. Naming and identifying the shapes
2. Drawing the shapes
3. Describing each shape by it's attributes
4. Identifying the shapes in real life objects
5. Differentiating between 2D and 3D shapes

Common Core Standards Covered:

Kindergarten:
K.G.2 Correctly name shapes regardless of their orientations or overall size.
K.G.3 Identify shapes as two-dimensional (lying in a plane, "flat") or three-dimensional ("solid").
K.G.4 Analyze and compare two- and three-dimensional shapes, in different sizes and orientations, using informal language to describe their similarities, differences, parts (e.g., number of sides and vertices/"corners") and other attributes (e.g., having sides of equal length).
K.G.5 Model shapes in the world by building shapes from components (e.g., sticks and clay balls) and drawing shapes.
