Setting Intentions: Word of the Year

Back to school (after summer or the new year) can be daunting and this is a friendly and impactful way that students can find meaning in their everyday classroom experience based on their personal goals.

After some reflecting, students will choose a word that becomes their intention for the quarter, semester, or year. Then you can have students draw it out, or write about it and display it around your room. When students are feeling defeated, draw their attention back to their intention word to motivate them!

Hint: students love when you share your intention with them too!
