Individual Descriptions:
Hispanic Scientist/Inventor WebQuest: Students use the internet to learn more about 11 important and influential Latinx scientists and inventors. They are provided with the scientist's name and job description, and then use Google to find information about the scientist's background and accomplishment(s). Note: Because there are no specific websites given, this resource is most appropriate for classes with a good ability to pull information from online text.
African American Scientists WebQuest (Set of 3): Can be used individually or together! Students discover the wide-ranging contributions of African Americans to the world of science and STEM from historical through modern times.
Women in the Sciences WebQuest: Students use the internet to research 12 significant historical female scientists as well as 4 lesser-known female scientists that are active in their fields today. Students find information about year and place of birth, colleges attended, scientific accomplishments, and other interesting facts. Note: Because there are no specific websites given, this resource is most appropriate for classes with a good ability to pull information from online text.
Asian-Pacific Scientists WebQuest: Students use the internet to learn more about 16 important and influential Asian-Pacific scientists representing 10 different countries. They are provided with the scientist's name and job description, and then use Google to find information about the scientist's background and accomplishment(s). Note: Because there are no specific websites given, this resource is most appropriate for classes with a good ability to pull information from online text.
Native American Heritage WebQuest: Students use the internet to research 16 scientists of Native American Heritage. Students find information about the scientists' year of birth, Native affiliation, scientific work, and other interesting facts. Note: Because there are no specific websites given, this resource is most appropriate for classes with a good ability to pull information from online text.
