Description

Introducing September Writing Packet, the ultimate resource to ignite creativity and celebrate the autumn season with your 1st through 3rd grade students! Packed with six engaging prompts centered around Labor Day, fall activities, and harvesting, this packet meets the Common Core State Standards for writing while inspiring young writers to explore their ideas and hone their skills.

Each prompt is carefully crafted to encourage students to express their thoughts through different genres:

  1. Informative/Opinion Prompts: Explore topics like the history of Labor Day and the joys of fall activities with prompts designed to spark curiosity and critical thinking.
  2. Argumentative/Persuasive Prompts: Engage students in meaningful discussions about topics such as the importance of honoring workers on Labor Day and advocating for the preservation of fall traditions and activities.
  3. Narrative Prompts: Transport students into the exciting world of storytelling with prompts that invite them to embark on adventures related to harvesting, fall festivals, and seasonal experiences.

But that's not all! This writing packet includes a comprehensive writing process guide, complete with prewriting/brainstorming activities, graphic organizers, drafting templates, and tools for revising and editing using the "arms" and "cups" acronyms.

Foster collaboration and peer learning with our peer review pages, where students can provide feedback on each other's writing using the "how students glow" and "how students can grow" approach. Plus, enhance classroom discussions by pairing these writing activities with relevant classroom texts and themed pages that celebrate the spirit of Labor Day and the beauty of the fall season.
